Silence is a source of great strength.Lao Tzu
When was the last time you made the time to be silent and still? When was the last time you carved out a chunk of time to enjoy the power of solitude to restore, renew and revitalize your mind, body and spirit?
Why Are You So Busy?
To reconnect with who you really are as a person, you must find the time to be silent regularly. Sure, you are busy. But as Thoreau said: “It is not enough to be busy, so are the ants. The question is what are you so busy about?”.
Benefits of Silence
While some people dislike a quiet environment, associating it with being alone and lonely, others look forward to spending time with just their thoughts and silence and treat it as a gift. Indeed, silence offers profound benefits, many of which we aren’t even aware of. (Check out the benefits of finding your oasis here). It is good for overall physical and mental well-being. It helps in lowering blood pressure, which can help prevent heart attack. It also boosts the body’s immune system. Furthermore, two minutes of silence relieves tension in the body and brain and is more relaxing than listening to music. Experiencing solitude, for even a few minutes a day, will keep you centred on your highest life priorities.
So take some time out from the hustle and bustle of the world and enjoy the tranquillity around you.
